DRIVES
Do you want to swing the club faster and hit farther Drives?
Have you tried to swing faster, but can’t seem to figure out why its so hard to create more speed ? Perhaps you are focussed on swinging your arms fast…
Let’s make this simple and study how all the other sports achieve that effortless power and increase in speed so effortlessly. Hockey, tennis, baseball, and football, all have different skills but the same LOWER body motion and movement SEQUENCE to create speed and power.
Complete all of these movements very slowly. Focus on what your legs are doing and how your arms are always hanging back, waiting until your legs give them the cue to fire. When we play these other sports we react, so we never have to think about how we do it.
Here are three simple keys to focus on when trying to create more speed:
Isn’t it interesting that this happens in every sport? Since the ball is not moving, we have difficulty “reacting” like we do in the other sports making it more difficult to use the ground properly. Our first instinct is to swing with our arms to hit the ball.
Try using other sports to learn the concept of power. The movements can be done anywhere and you don’t need a golf club. Thinking outside the box makes it much easier for us to perform movements because we understand them better. After all, golf is hard enough, why make it harder ?
